About
Mitchell
Mario Mitchell is a dedicated public servant and entrepreneur, proudly representing the Bellefield Division in Manchester Central as a Councillor under the People’s National Party (PNP). Since his election in 2016, he has been a tireless advocate for community development, youth empowerment, and sustainable growth.
Born and raised in Manchester, Mario’s journey in leadership began early laying the foundation for his passion for service and leadership and his now reputation as the ever present #CounillorOnDuty, as he travelled all of Jamaica serving in various youth and community groups.
He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication with a minor in Political Science from Northern Caribbean University.
With this long standing dedication to youth advocacy, Mr. Mitchell previously served as the head of the National Youth Council of Jamaica (NYCJ) and as a member of the National Youth Service (NYS) Foundation Board.
His influence extended to his role on several government boards, including:

Beyond politics, Mario is an entrepreneur with expertise in consulting, marketing, and entertainment. He has served on multiple government boards, including the Housing Agency of Jamaica and the National Family Planning Board. His passion for progress extends to youth advocacy, having led the National Youth Council of Jamaica and held several leadership roles within the PNP.

If there’s a game on, he’s watching. Football, basketball, cricket, track and field, as long as its sports, he’s all in.
His playlist is a wild mix. One minute it’s reggae, the next it’s classic rock or dancehall.
A certified movie junkie. This may be one of his favourite past times.
Loves to cook especially when it means bringing people together over good food.
Traveling and new experiences are everything. He’d choose an adventure over material things any day.
